WHY TALK TO A BUILDING?

Alice Cotton, Oregon architectural artist/author, spent a year illustrating and communicating with a selection of Oregon's most important historical buildings, now featured in her new book, When Buildings Speak.

Using historical architecture as her focal point, Alice engages her audience with humor as she gives a rivoting presentation that powers up the creative potential in each of us. Alice takes this idea seriously and has a profound impact on participants in her audience as she tells them exactly why they should listen WHEN BUILDINGS SPEAK.

Alice also gives lectures and workshops on the many ways parents and teachers can integrate arts and academics.

In Presenting a History of Creative Architecture, Alice shows...

  • How incorporating historical architectural values affects how we conduct ourselves and our business.
  • How buildings can tell us a great deal about art, history, and who we are as human beings.
  • How beauty and art enhance self-worth, personal happiness, and productivity.
  • How much we need to live and work in an environment that best supports our creativity and why.
